Removing Old Kernels Manually (If Needed)

 

While sudo apt autoremove should take care of most old kernels, you might occasionally need to remove specific ones, especially if your /boot partition is small.  

It is highly recommended to keep 

the current running kernel and

 at least one older, working kernel as a backup.
